Do you like control? I know I do. Sometimes I think I have some control, but I soon learn it is just an illusion. I desire what I do not have and what I do not have is control. Lack of control so often leads to deep frustration. Unchecked, this leads to anger and hurt. Leaders often think and act like we have control. We have a warrior mentality. We fight battles for our organization and we expect to win the spoils of war. This, too, is an illusion.
A better mindset is stewardship. A steward takes care of what belongs to others. A steward’s focus is on others and other’s things.
